Christina Signorelli is running for Lake County Council, District 1 because she believes local government should be accessible, transparent, and centered on people. As a former caregiver navigating complex public systems and a professional in economic development, Christina brings both real-world experience and practical insight to the table. She is committed to modernizing county government, supporting responsible growth, and ensuring Lake County’s future is built around strong communities, not bureaucracy. She believes that strong communities are built on public safety, accessible resources, and responsive local government.

Her commitment comes from personal experience as a caregiver to family members navigating access to resources in our community, giving her firsthand insight into the gaps and barriers that families face when seeking help in a time of urgency. She knows how vital coordinated support, clear communication, and proactive services are to keeping residents safe and supported.

Christina is an economic development professional with over six years of practical and progressive experience, with emphasis on Tax Increment Financing (TIF). As a lifelong Hammond resident, she is a graduate of Bishop Noll Institute and received a B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University Northwest, through the College Bound scholarship program. She is a licensed McColly Realtor and President of the Lake County Young Democrats. 

Professionally, Christina has worked in economic development, helping the community plan for responsible growth and strong infrastructure while keeping residents’ needs at the center. Through this work, she has seen how public safety, mental health, and community development are deeply connected, and that effective leadership can address root causes, not just immediate problems.

Christina is running to bring compassionate, practical, and accountable leadership to the Lake County Council, ensuring that government works for residents and that every community member has the support they need to thrive.
